Gypsy Gold Sells for €280,000, Leading Arqana Online Sale
Araci, a four-year-old trained by Jean-Claude Rouget, has won two races and achieved a top rating of 91. She comes from a distinguished black-type family, with her dam being the stakes-winning Singspiel mare Glorious Sight, who was second in the French 1,000 Guineas and third in the Prix de Diane. Araci is also a sister to the Listed-placed Glaer and a half-sibling to Glycon, who won the Grand Prix de Deauville and was third in the Prix Royal-Oak.
Glorious Sight, purchased for €1,700,000 by Oceanic Bloodstock from the 2011 Arqana Arc Sale, is also a half-sister to Prix du Gros-Chene winner Beauty Is Truth, who is the dam of top-class performers Hydrangea, Hermosa, and The United States. The lineage extends to include Prix Robert Papin victor and Prix Morny and Middle Park Stakes second Zipping, along with Prix du Petit Couvert winner Nipping.
At the Haras des Coudraies offering, Korliska was sold to €Haras du Berlais for 72,000, while Kapkine, in foal to Masked Marvel, was acquired by Haras de Chantemerle for €41,000. Overall, seven of the ten lots sold for a total turnover of €462,000.
