High Class Hero, a Leading Albert Bartlett Contender, Poised to Validate Cheltenham Potential at Thurles or Leopardstown
The seven-year-old horse is undefeated in four races for trainer Willie Mullins. Last year, he won a bumper and three novice hurdles in a span of five months, culminating in a seven-length victory at Limerick. However, he hasn’t raced since that win in October. One of the part-owners of the horse, Jared Sullivan, has teamed up with Mullins in the past for Cheltenham Festival success. Sullivan is also involved in the exciting novice horse with partners Neill Hughes and Peter Crowley. Noel Fehily, Sullivan’s racing manager and former jockey, has been impressed with how High Class Hero has improved with each race. Fehily mentioned that the horse has been in great form and is on an upward trajectory. The plan is for High Class Hero to have another race before hopefully going on to Cheltenham.
In addition to High Class Hero, another horse, Femme Magnifique, is also an exciting prospect. Fehily describes her as a lovely, big mare who won nicely at Thurles. The plan for Femme Magnifique is to go to the Dublin Racing Festival. Fehily was impressed with her win and believes she could be a very good horse.
Meanwhile, Love Envoi, another horse ridden by jockey Jonathan Burke, had a good performance in the Unibet 3 Uniboosts A Day Mares’ Hurdle at Sandown Park. Burke mentioned that trainer Gary Moore was keen to enter Love Envoi in the Betfair Hurdle. Burke thought Love Envoi’s previous race was good considering he had to overcome difficulties due to being checked and racing in a slow-paced race.
Overall, Fehily is pleased to see High Class Hero back in form after a disappointing chase debut. He believes the horse looked back to his best during the recent race and hopes he can continue to perform well. Unfortunately, a planned race at Wetherby came too soon for the horse.
