Highfield Princess to continue training in pursuit of Royal Ascot redemption, say connections

Trained by John Quinn, Highfield Princess had an impressive career, claiming her fourth career Group 1 victory in 2023 when she won the Prix de l’Abbaye at Longchamp. She also had success in the Group 2 King George Stakes at Glorious Goodwood. However, her final run of the season was less successful, as she finished sixth in the Hong Kong Sprint at Sha Tin.

Rather than retiring Highfield Princess to be covered at stud, Fairley, her owner, expressed his determination to continue enjoying the excitement of watching the seven-year-old race.

In other news, Southwell’s Wednesday card passed a late inspection, but there would be no jump racing on Thursday after Fairyhouse and Ludlow failed inspections. The CEO of 888 acknowledged that the company’s financial performance needed improvement, and the owner of William Hill revealed a fall in revenue. There were also discussions about the upcoming Cheltenham Festival and the potential rescheduling of the Clarence House due to bad weather. Racing leaders pledged to lobby MPs to attend an important affordability debate in the Commons next month.
