Fontwell schedules 8am inspection; Ffos Las prospects bleak for Friday racing, says Racing Post.
The recent weather conditions have made the going soft, heavy in places at the Northumberland venue, following 58mm of rain in the last seven days. A further inspection will be announced if necessary.
The forecast for Wednesday is mainly dry after 12mm of rain on Tuesday night, making the track raceable. However, considering the 47.4mm of rain over the last six days and an expected 5-7mm on Thursday, officials will check conditions before the six-race card.
An additional 3-4mm of rain is also expected by 6am on Thursday, with the possibility of 10-15mm of rain before racing. After failing its inspection on Wednesday morning due to 70mm of rain in the last seven days and further showers forecast until raceday, the track’s raceability needs to be reevaluated.
