Panel of experts’ picks for the weekend races
I fancy this one the most. Paul Flynn’s seven-year-old has won two of his five chase starts and is showing progress.
In their previous meeting on Boxing Day, he was closing the gap all the way to the finish line, and with a 3lb pull at the weights, he should perform well. Despite the occasional mistake, he appears to be very smart and does everything right.
He outstayed Monty’s Star in a hot 2m4f maiden hurdle last season, and a mark of 133 looks generous for his return to hurdling. Perhaps a reverse Exacta could be a good option.
