Richard Pugh assumes new position as Head of Racing and Insights at HRI
Pugh is a highly experienced professional in the industry, having joined Tattersalls Ireland in 2012 and serving as its director of horses in training sales since 2015, prior to taking his new post. In 2003, he co-founded Point to Point Services Ltd along with its associated website p2p.ie, and will now step down from his role as director due to his new commitments. Additionally, Pugh has been the lead race commentator for RTE Racing since 1997 and has been a longstanding committee member of several associations within the industry. In his new role, Pugh will report to the new director of racing, Jonathan Mullin.
He expressed his intrigue in the economics of horse-racing and his interest in the planning, fixtures, programming, and scheduling that contribute to a successful product. Pugh also spoke highly of his experience at Tattersalls, appreciating the integrity and values of the brand and the strategic opportunities it provided for him. Freya Hammer has been appointed as the senior data insights manager for HRI and will commence her role in May. She will report to the head of racing and insights.
Prior to this, Hammer worked as a data analyst at Flutter in 2018, progressing to the role of commercial performance manager in 2021, before joining BoyleSports in 2022.
