Beauvatier looks to solidify French 2,000 Guineas bid in important Longchamp trial
The son of Lope De Vega had an impressive record of being unbeaten in four starts before the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere on Arc day. Despite facing difficulties during the race and finishing third to Rosallion, he emerged as one of the key French three-year-olds to follow. Trainer Yann Barberot mentioned that the horse is easy to work with and they have taken their time with him, not wanting to overwork him before the Fontainebleau. Reflecting on Beauvatier’s final start at two, Barberot mentioned that the Lagardere race was run at a stop-start pace, and a horse on his inside moved out and stopped him in his run.
However, despite these obstacles, he ran a very honourable third. After chasing impressive winner Opera Singer from an early stage, Rose Bloom showed plenty of tenacity to hold on for second. Racing Post have got the best offers, all in one place.
