British Team Unlucky as Sajir Sets Serious Challenge for Andre Fabre and Prince Faisal in Prix Sigy
Prince Faisal’s son of Make Believe finished the last season with an easy win in the Listed Prix Saraca over seven furlongs. It remains to be seen if his owner-breeder and Andre Fabre will attempt to stretch out his stamina for the mile of the Poule d’Essai des Poulains on May 12.
According to Ted Voute, Prince Faisal’s racing and bloodstock manager, they were initially concerned about the distance but had to run to find out their next steps due to unfavorable ground conditions. Voute mentioned that the horse handled the five and a half furlongs well despite a bad draw.
Voute also expressed uncertainty about entering the French Guineas, considering the distance might be too far for the horse. He indicated that the decision would ultimately depend on the Prince and emphasized the positive note that the horse has trained on and shown improvement.
In relation to the sire, Make Believe, Voute acknowledged the hope that the successful performance of Prince Faisal’s son would bring attention back to the stallion. The traveling British contingent at the race did not have a successful outing, with Got To Love A Grey and Action Point fading to sixth and eighth place respectively.
