Charlie Appleby Wins Grade 2 Prize at Keeneland with Silver Knott in US Strike
The four-year-old horse returned to the track with determination, having narrowly missed a Breeders’ Cup victory as a juvenile. In the Grade 2 event, the Lope De Vega gelding, ridden by Flavien Prat, surged ahead and held the lead, leaving little room for competitors to catch up.
The better-fancied stablemate, Bold Act, ridden by Frankie Dettori, finished in third place, after a recent impressive win in the Dubai City of Gold Stakes. As reported by Bloodhorse, Prat expressed satisfaction with the performance, despite facing pressure from competing horses during the race.
On this occasion, the Dettori-ridden Beaute Cachee finished second, while Silver Knott crossed the finish line ahead of Missed The Cut, previously a winner of four races for George Boughey before joining John Sadler last season. Racing Post is offering top deals, all conveniently found in one place.
