New Equine Therapy Center to Be Constructed and Named in Honor of Jack de Bromhead After €1 Million Donations
ChildVision, the specialist therapy and education centre for children with visual impairment, announced on Tuesday the opening of a new centre in Drumcondra. This new centre was made possible by donations from the family and friends of the De Bromheads, spearheaded by Chris Jones, a family friend and well-known owner with the stable. With the support of Jack’s parents Heather and Henry, the €1m donation target needed to complete the equine therapeutic centre was reached last December. The De Bromhead family expressed that the equine centre will be a wonderful legacy for their beloved Jack, who is greatly missed.
They emphasized the significant benefits of horse riding in addressing physical, social, and emotional issues. The announcement also mentioned a ‘Celebration Of Life’ in memory of Stefano, with the service held at the King’s Hotel in honor of his family, friends, and former colleagues. In other news, jockey Stefano Cherchi’s funeral was held in Sassari, Sardinia. He passed away in Australia after suffering serious head injuries in a fall at Canberra the previous month.
Additionally, jockey Joseph O’Brien received a substantial ban at Dundalk due to his excessive use of the whip, but the severity of the sanction was reduced following an appeal. On a different note, the Flat track at Tipperary has been deemed unfit for racing, leading to efforts to reschedule the meeting in cooperation with Horse Racing Ireland.
