Nicky Richards Pays Tribute to Monet’s Garden Owner David Yates
The meeting has been delayed from its original 1:52 start time and will now begin at 2:22. The races are expected to follow the previously scheduled times. Clerk of the course Richard Hammill commented on the situation, stating that there has been more rain than forecast, with up to 6.5mm this morning. As a result, the long-distance race has been cancelled due to standing water at the back of the lake, which has made the track softer in that area.
This section of the track is only used for races over a mile and a half. The rest of the course is described as soft, heavy in places, but overall in good condition, albeit quite testing. Hammill mentioned that the rain is expected to continue until lunchtime, potentially adding another 3-4mm. As a result, there is a possibility of a change in track conditions before the racing begins.
