Sam Thomas celebrates patient owners as Captain Wallace wins for the second time in four days
The South Glamorgan-based trainer recently expressed the challenges of finding suitable ground for a six-year-old horse, who achieved a ten-length victory at Exeter on Friday before going on to win a 2m4½f handicap hurdle by 11 lengths. Thomas credited owner Mark Peart and all owners for their patience in dealing with the difficult conditions and expressed hope for better conditions in the future.
Captain Wallace, ridden by Dylan Johnston, secured a convincing victory. Thomas praised the horse’s potential and hinted at future success over fences, highlighting the impact of unfavorable ground on the horse’s performance during the winter.
The trainer has achieved success with four out of seven runners in the past two weeks and expressed confidence in the remaining horses set to race during the week.
