Smart View’s impressive debut win raises the question: Who will prevail in the Wood Ditton at Newmarket?
The new Smart View card serves two main purposes. Firstly, it aims to eliminate the barrier to entry that many potential fans of the sport face with a traditional racecard. Secondly, it seeks to incorporate all the information that a serious punter would consider about a race into this simplified presentation.
These data objectives have been shaped according to customer preferences and carried out by a team of data scientists collaborating with racing experts. The result is the Smart View card, which has been developed over a period of more than two years. The Smart View racecard includes essential details such as the horse’s silks, name, number, trainer, jockey, odds, and form figures.
In addition, the card features six attribute bars, each representing a score out of 100. These bars are color-coded using a traffic light-like system, with bold green representing the highest scores. An accessibility version is also available, allowing users to customize their viewing experience to better suit their needs.
Every Smart View racecard entry includes a score for the horse’s ability, trainer, and jockey. The remaining three scores are derived from a list of five factors (course, distance, ground, draw, and jumping), chosen based on the race’s code and specific circumstances.
