Trish wins £54,000 Tote Ten to Follow with team chosen by her late husband
Trish was overwhelmed with joy on Monday as she realized that after years of taking part in the Ten to Follow competition, they had finally emerged victorious. However, she was saddened by the fact that her late husband wasn’t there to witness their long-awaited success.
Reflecting on the races, she expressed that the big race didn’t cause much concern, but the following hour was quite stressful for her. To ease her anxiety, she took her dog for a walk and watched Found A Fifty’s race on the Tote website.
She feared that the dream was over when the horse struggled with the last fence, but she cheered him on so ardently during the final stretch that she even startled her dog. Found A Fifty, who was overtaken by Master Chewy after the last fence, managed to stage a comeback and won by a head under Jack Kennedy.
This victory fulfilled the dreams of a couple who had been involved in racing for 40 years in Newmarket and were annual members there. Upon relocating to Dorset after her husband’s untimely passing, Trish and her late husband continued their passion for racing by transferring their membership to Wincanton and eagerly participating in the Ten to Follow selections.
Now, with her husband gone and their recent success, Trish is considering moving closer to some of her family, and she acknowledges that their triumph has greatly assisted in making this possible. In the absence of her husband, Trish found solace in the thought that he would have agreed that she truly knows the best course of action for their future.
This achievement holds great significance for her, especially in light of the substantial change in her life circumstances.
