Doncaster confident ahead of Thursday’s raceday inspection amidst positive forecast.
The track conditions at a racing event changed on Thursday morning from yielding to soft to heavy, as a result of 10mm of rain on Wednesday night. However, an additional 7mm since 7.30am rendered the track unraceable. The clerk of the course Lorcan Wyer shared that 39mm of rain had fallen since declarations on Tuesday, leading to the unfortunate cancellation of the scheduled meeting for that day due to the large volume of water in a short time.
A yellow weather warning for snow in the area had been issued by the Met Office for Thursday, but the track was still suitable for racing. However, rain was forecast from 9am onwards, with the first race scheduled for 12.55. The ground was reported to be good, and plans were in place for racing on Friday.
These developments have led Racing Post to highlight the best offers for the event, all in one convenient location.
