Unbeaten chaser Grangeclare West to miss Brown Advisory and is out for the rest of the season

The Willie Mullins-trained eight-year-old has performed well in both his fence starts, securing victories in the Grade 1 Neville Hotels Novice Chase in December. Grangeclare West was supposed to participate in the Grade 1 Ladbrokes Novice Chase at the Dublin Racing Festival but was withdrawn after being discovered cast in his box. Chris Richardson, racing manager to Cheveley Park Stud, expressed disappointment at the situation, citing the horse’s impressive recent performance and the missed opportunity.

Unfortunately, the horse appears to have sustained a potential hairline pelvic fracture. Ongoing investigations seek to confirm the extent of the injury.
