The Craftymaster completes impressive five-timer for Tony Carroll
The Craftymaster, previously trained by Roger Teal, joined Tony Carroll as a four-race maiden and marked his first win under the new trainer at Wolverhampton in December with a rating of 49. Following this, he secured a hat-trick at Wolverhampton and then triumphed at Lingfield in his most recent race.
Returning to the same track and distance, the four-year-old defeated the 5-2 favourite The Bunt by three-quarters of a length. Carroll commented on The Craftymaster’s progress, stating “He’s progressing really nicely.”
Despite racing successfully at a 12lb higher mark than his initial win, Carroll noted that the horse is adapting well to the increasing grades. He also highlighted The Craftymaster’s stamina and tendency to conserve energy during races, suggesting that there is always a little bit more to give.
This gradual progression and performance on the track indicate promise for his future races.
