Unbeaten Embassy Gardens Set for Festival Bound Staying Novice Chases at Cheltenham – Racing Post
The 8-13 favourite faced a tough race, with early leader Sandor Clegane holding the lead into the final stretch. The second favourite, Letsbeclearaboutit, was in a position to potentially challenge as well. However, Embassy Gardens, under the guidance of jockey Paul Townend, managed to overtake the front runner and secure a commanding ten-length victory. Following this impressive win, Embassy Gardens’ chances were assessed for the National Hunt Chase and the Brown Advisory, with odds being adjusted accordingly.
Trainer Paul Nolan was pleased with Sandor Clegane’s performance, despite coming in behind Embassy Gardens. Even though Sandor Clegane was beaten, the trainer felt that the horse finished strongly and showed good jumping ability. On the other hand, the Mullins-trained winner from the latter race, the four-year-old hurdler, once again displayed promising form, securing a win in the race, showing potential for a longer trip in the future. The trainer mentioned potential plans for a Graded race at Fairyhouse over Easter.
In another race, rider Tom Harney faced an eight-day ban following the use of the whip on Arabian King after the horse’s chance had passed in the 2m3f handicap hurdle.
