Embracing Poundland Principles: Delivering Value and Customer Satisfaction Translates to Racing Success

The array of food vendors, well-manned drinks outlets, craft stalls, and even a brass band on stilts made for a contrasting experience compared to the last time I visited the track. During my previous visit, shortly after the pandemic, the lack of catering and long queues for a warm can of Guinness were inexcusable. However, this time they have transformed the course’s biggest day into a wholly pleasurable experience. Last year, the event attracted a crowd of 4,449 people. Unfortunately, this year, the crowd had shrunk to 3,243, possibly due to the counter-attraction of Coventry City playing Leicester City in a lunchtime kick-off and delays on Chiltern Railways causing travel difficulties. The cost of living crisis may also be affecting spending on leisure activities, making providing value for money even more important.
