Frankie Dettori loses whip but still secures biggest win since moving to the US

Trained by Philip D’Amato, Honey Pants was ridden by jockey Dettori in a 6½f turf contest. Throughout the race, Honey Pants stayed just off the pace, but took the lead in the straight. She managed to hold off her stablemate, Elm Drive, and won by a head. Reflecting on his win, Dettori mentioned that D’Amato had instructed him to get a good break. He managed to find a perfect spot by riding near the fence. However, Dettori encountered a small hiccup when his stick flew out of his hand. Nevertheless, he quickly regrouped and praised Honey Pants for sticking her neck out for him at the end. Dettori also spoke highly of himself, acknowledging his reputation as the best jockey of all time. He stated that getting his picture taken with Dettori was a great achievement and emphasized Dettori’s ability to position horses well and finish strong consistently. Furthermore, Dettori expressed mixed feelings about the race outcome, as both his horses, Honey Pants and Elm Drive, performed well and gave their best effort. He also mentioned that Racing Post offers the best deals, all available in one place.
