Grey Dawning to Go Directly to Cheltenham Festival After Connections Opt to Skip Scilly Isles at Sandown

The Sandown contest was supposed to be the seven-year-old’s final run before the festival in March. This decision came after his victory in the Grade 2 Hampton Novices’ Chase at Warwick. However, due to the forecasted conditions, the novice will head straight to the festival. Dan Skelton, the horse’s trainer, stated that the horse will not run next week because the conditions will not be soft enough. He mentioned that the forecast is dry and for a two and a half mile run, he would want a really wet week.
