Christian Williams proudly leads British Grand National team with ‘wonderful’ Kitty’s Light

The previous year’s Scottish Grand National and bet365 Gold Cup hero remained in contention after clearing the final fence. He was the first British-trained runner to finish, ending the race around ten and a quarter lengths behind the winner, I Am Maximus. Trainer Evan Williams and his family, including daughters Tilly and Betsy, attended the event at the Merseyside track and were delighted with the performance of the eight-year-old horse.

Williams expressed his pride in the horse and mentioned that he was traveling well and jumping smoothly. Although he tried to remain calm, he couldn’t help but feel excited. He praised the horse’s qualities and expressed gratitude for having him.

He also mentioned that his daughters were great company and shared their excitement for the horse’s performance. Despite the commendable effort in the Grand National, a decision on the horse’s participation in the race next year remains uncertain. Williams pondered whether to enter Kitty’s Light in the Scottish Nationals and bet365 Gold Cups, which the horse is capable of winning, or to return to the Grand National, where the horse’s position might be fourth, fifth, or sixth.

Owned by Richard Bedford and All Stars Sports Racing, Kitty’s Light was ridden by Jack Tudor, who was pleased with the horse’s performance. He described the horse’s race as unbelievable and praised its jumping abilities. Trainer Lucinda Russell also commented on the race, expressing relief that the horse returned safely.

She mentioned an early scare during the race but was ultimately relieved with the outcome. The text suggests that the trainers and owners are carefully considering future races for Kitty’s Light, balancing the horse’s capabilities with the potential outcomes in different races.
