Haggas praises Mullins but offers hope to Nicholls and Skelton after racing

Vincent O’Brien, a champion jumps trainer from Ireland, transitioned to new challenges after twice achieving the same title in Britain. Conversely, Mullins, an accomplished trainer, has expressed his ambition to win the Melbourne Cup and his focus on prominent events such as the Royal Ascot and securing valuable handicaps in Australia. Despite these achievements, there is little indication that he has a strong desire to devote more time to Flat racing.

However, the recent Newbury action, specifically the Greenham and Fred Darling races, displayed potential for expanding his ambitions. Notably, the Greenham was won by a gelding, the Fred Darling by a filly not entered in the Qipco 1,000 Guineas, and the elder statesman achieved success in the Dubai Duty Free-backed John Porter, indicating the potential for growth.
