Jeremy Clarkson to Launch New Racehorse Syndicate, Confuses Motor Racing and Horseracing!

Jeremy Clarkson, known for his Amazon series Clarkson’s Farm, is venturing into the world of agriculture by leading a Cotswolds-based syndicate under Old Gold Racing. The syndicate will be represented by a four-year-old racehorse named The Hawkstonian, after Clarkson’s beer Hawkstone. Trained by Ben Pauling, the racehorse is set to make its debut either in late April or early October and was purchased for €45,000 at the 2023 Goffs Arkle sale. Although there was initial confusion between motor racing and horse racing, the proximity of Ben Pauling’s training facilities to Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm and Hawkstone Brewery assures him that his hay supply is secure.

The Hawkstonian will initially be offered for sale to members of the Hawkstone’s club on April 22, followed by the opening of Old Gold Racing’s waiting list the next day. The public sale of shares will commence on April 25. Ed Seyfried, the chief executive of Old Gold Racing, expressed excitement in powering the inaugural Hawkstone Racing syndicate and welcomed Jeremy Clarkson’s involvement in the racing scene this season.
