Lots of finishers in National before and future runnings could still be full of drama

The recent debate about the race taking place this year has sparked strong reactions from both sides. However, it is important to note that this year’s event may not have been drastically different from past races. Many seem to forget that the more ordinary Nationals tend to be less memorable. It is unlikely that in the past, people were as passionate in their belief that the race would never be the same again.

For instance, in 1984, 23 out of 40 runners finished, and in 1987, 1990, 1992, and 2005, over 20 horses finished the race.
