Racehorse Found Loose on Railway Platform Shocks Late-Night Travellers
The unnamed racehorse was one of four horses released from Annabel Neasham’s stables late in the evening. While three of them stayed close to home, the fourth strayed farther afield and was found waiting to board a train. An unknown person had broken into Neasham’s premises to release the horses, which included three registered racehorses and a stable pony. Racing NSW chief steward Steve Railton stated that Neasham explained an unknown person had gained access to one of her stable blocks on Friday evening.
Neasham and her staff managed to catch the horse in a train station car park. She was reportedly unaware that the horse had walked onto the platform until she saw the footage. Annabel Neasham, who was born in England, has achieved a rapid rise in the training ranks since moving to Australia in 2016, notably with the multiple Group 1 winner Zaaki.
