Thunder Roll makes impressive progress in Noblesse for Joseph O’Brien
Thunder Roll won the 12-runner event due to a tactical race. The four-year-old was perfectly positioned by jockey McMonagle and secured a half-length win over the second-place horse, Sumiha. Trainer O’Brien praised Thunder Roll’s performance and hopes for further progress this season, especially with softer ground conditions.
Another horse, the son of Frankel, also secured a victory with a strong finish in the last furlong. Trainer Weld expressed the horse’s need for better ground and mentioned the Gallinule Stakes race as a potential next step. Weld also commented on the horse’s talent and potential for the future.
Weld celebrated his first win of the Irish Flat season with his 19th runner, deliberately waiting for better ground conditions.
