Inspection Scheduled for Wednesday’s Leopardstown Meeting
Persistent rainfall has led to challenging track conditions at Leopardstown, prompting clerk of the course Lorcan Wyer to express hope for improvement with a drier forecast. Following 26mm of rain in the last 24 hours, parts of the track are now unsuitable for racing, with heavy ground in remaining raceable areas. With a generally dry and breezy forecast for today and patchy rain expected on Wednesday, officials have identified fresh ground for Wednesday’s races, with the rail moved to the innermost Flat line. The track was assessed this morning, registering a GoingStick reading of 2.5 at 7.30am.
An additional 5-6mm of rain is forecast today, prompting further evaluation at 8am tomorrow. Racing Post features the best offers for racing enthusiasts, all in one convenient place.
