Hardy Eustace retired at the age of 13 in 2010 and later became a star attraction at the Irish National Stud in County Kildare, where he passed away. Lar Byrne, the owner, expressed his sadness at the loss and thanked all those involved in Hardy Eustace’s life, including the Hughes family, jockeys, and the staff at the National Stud. Conor O’Dwyer, who rode Hardy Eustace to two Champion Hurdle victories, remembered the horse as a significant part of his career and appreciated the opportunity to be associated with him.
Sandra Hughes, daughter of Dessie Hughes, also shared her appreciation for Hardy Eustace and expressed gratitude to Lar Byrne and the staff at the Irish National Stud for giving the horse a wonderful retirement.
