Davy Russell advocates for introducing qualifying races for the Grand National, believing others should be kept out.

There has been considerable discussion about the recent Grand National, particularly after I Am Maximus secured Willie Mullins his second victory. Racing Post tipster Paul Kealy’s comments caught the attention of many, including Russell. Kealy expressed the opinion that this year’s Grand National featured an excessive number of horses that were out of form, aiming solely to block better-handicapped horses from participating. He highlighted the inclusion of obvious non-stayers and horses with a poor recent performance record.
