Two years ago, the Christian Williams-trained mare secured an easy win under Rob James at Ayr, finishing seven lengths ahead of her stablemate Kitty’s Light. The mare, a daughter of Gold Well owned by Sue Howell, had previously won the Eider Chase at Newcastle but failed to follow up in the Bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown, falling two fences from home behind Hewick. Following the race at Sandown, Win My Wings sustained an injury while being prepared for the following winter.

Consequently, it was announced at the end of 2022 that she had been acquired by DahlBury, the breeding banner of Simon and Rhian Davis. Before the auction, Win My Wings had won an Irish point-to-point on her third attempt for Denis Moore. Notably, Win My Wings is out of a half-sister to the Irish Arkle winner On The Other Hand and comes from a family that includes accomplished hurdler-chasers such as Made In Taipan and Westerner Lady.
